On Friday, 23rd May 2025, the Friends of Ronzls Foundation held Day 6 of its Annual Quiz and Spelling Bee Competition 5.0 (2025 Preliminaries), themed Remo Ultimate Intellectual Showdown. The event took place at St. John’s Primary School I, Ogijo, and featured selected primary schools from the Ogijo zone.
The competition was divided into two main sections. The first was the Quiz section, which involved a paper-and-pencil test assessing the pupils’ understanding of core academic subjects including Mathematics, English Language, Science, General Knowledge, and ICT. The second section was the Spelling Bee, where contestants were given words to spell aloud, testing their grasp of English vocabulary, and confidence under pressure.
Eleven schools participated in the Day 6 preliminaries. These were: Ansar Ur Deen School, Imushin; Imoro Ogijo Community Primary School; L.G. School, Eriyo Gbaga; Local Government Primary School, Ajeregun; St. Francis Primary School, Igbosoro; St. John’s Anglican Schools I, II, and III; St. Michael R.C.M. Primary School, Fakale; St. Paul’s Primary School, Igode; and Wesley Primary School, Erefu – all located in Ogijo.
At the end of the day’s competition, two outstanding contestants emerged from the Ogijo zone. Valentine King from St. Francis Primary School, Igbosoro, and Oyedele Samuel from St. Michael R.C.M. Primary School, Fakale, delivered exceptional performances in both the quiz and spelling bee sections. Their excellence earned them well-deserved spots in the Grand Finale of the competition.
