Second Week Report: 2024 Soles For Little Souls School Sandals Distribution Project

The Friends of Ronzls Foundation continued the 2024 edition of the Soles For Little Souls School Sandals Distribution Project with great success in the second week, running from Monday, 30th September to Friday, 4th October 2024.

Project Overview

This project aims to provide new sandals to learners who either have damaged sandals, wear footwear not permitted in school, or go without sandals because their parents cannot afford them. By the end of the 2024 edition, we aim to distribute over 3,200 pairs of sandals across Sagamu’s government primary schools.

Distribution Progress

As of the second week, 1,593 pairs of new sandals were distributed to learners across 21 government primary schools. Below are the beneficiary schools for the second week:

  • Sokoya Memorial Primary School, Makun – 54 pairs
  • AUD Primary School, Makun – 115 pairs
  • Ansar-Ur-Deen Primary School, Isale-Oko – 63 pairs
  • Zumuratul Islam-Iyah School, Ojumele – 52 pairs
  • LG Primary School, Makun, Sagamu – 105 pairs
  • O.G.D. Primary School, Ewu-Oliwo – 63 pairs
  • Wesley School I, Oko, Sagamu – 42 pairs
  • Wesley Primary School, Ojumele – 99 pairs
  • School for Special Needs, Makun – 28 pairs
  • Wesley School II, Oko, Sagamu – 84 pairs

A Heartfelt Distribution Process

Although the process was logistically demanding, the team remained committed. We visited each school in person to ensure every pupil received the correct sandal size. The extra effort of personally fitting the sandals was necessary to guarantee both comfort and durability for the children.

Impact and Feedback

The smiles and joy on the faces of the beneficiaries were priceless. Many pupils showed up to school with worn-out sandals or slippers, footwear not suitable for school settings. Witnessing their transformation—going from unsuitable footwear to brand-new sandals—was both heartwarming and inspiring.

This project provided more than just footwear; it gave the children a renewed sense of dignity, love, and hope. The sandals are more than practical necessities—they serve as a symbol of care and a reminder that they are not alone in their journey through education.

Looking Ahead

The project continues to gain momentum, and we remain committed to reaching even more schools and learners in the coming weeks. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has supported the Soles For Little Souls initiative, and we look forward to distributing many more pairs in the weeks ahead.

Together, we are making a difference—one step at a time.
