Week 1 Update: 2025 Reading Sensitization Program

This week, we officially commenced our 2025 Reading Sensitization Program on Monday, February 3rd, 2025. As part of our ongoing commitment to fostering a love for reading among young learners, we are visiting the 44 primary schools adopted into the Friends of Ronzls Foundation, in Sagamu, Ogun State. Through this initiative, we aim to educate learners on the importance of reading and how it can positively impact their education.

We kicked off the week by visiting St. Paul Primary School I, Ijoku; St. Paul Primary School II, Ijoku; and African Church Primary School, Ijoku. We spent time reading with the learners, engaging them in interactive storytelling, and discussing how reading can broaden their knowledge and enhance their academic performance.

On this day, we extended our reach to two of the 14 newly adopted schools—Anglican Church Primary School, Mosimi, and United African Methodist Church, Eleja-Iraye. Witnessing the excitement on the faces of both learners and teachers in these remote areas was incredibly rewarding. To support their reading development, we provided each of these schools with 10 storybooks and pledged to establish their library with an additional 290 books, ensuring each newly adopted school receives a total of 300 books.

Our journey through these schools this week has been deeply fulfilling. The joy, curiosity, and engagement of the learners reaffirm the importance of our mission. We look forward to continuing our visits and making a lasting impact on these young minds.

Stay tuned for more updates as we continue our 2025 Reading Sensitization Program!
